Why an Offline Restaurant POS Matters When Your WiFi Doesn't Work

An ISP outage, a router that needs a reboot, a Friday night when everyone in the building is on WiFi at once. When billing lives on someone else’s server, a dead internet connection means a dead register, right when the restaurant is busiest.
What actually breaks when the connection drops
With a cloud-hosted POS, every action — ringing up an order, sending a ticket to the kitchen, closing out a table — is a round trip to a server somewhere else. No connection, no round trip, no service. Servers end up taking orders on paper “just for tonight,” then re-entering everything once the connection comes back, if it comes back before close.
What “offline-first” changes

What still needs the internet
